  • Four hardstone and gold desk seals, English, circa 1840
  • gold, hardstone, gilt metal
moulded red and brown agate handles of various shapes, gold cushions chased with bulbous foliate scrolls, the matrixes engraved with crest, initials and motto, from 5.8cm., 2 1/4 in. to 7.5cm., 2 7/8 in.; a banded agate cane handle, 14ct gold finial, probably German, 7cm., 2 3/4 in. high,  and an agate intaglio of a faming heart, 2.3cm., 7/8 in. wide

Condition

desk seals: cushions have been refitted on the brown and small red agate seals, the tall red one with split to gold mounts, matrixes probably all later. cane handle: a gilt metal star stuck on the top of finial to hide monogram, intaglio in good condition but fitted in a later gilt mount
