Condition
Both canvases have been relined. The paint surface is slightly unclean on both. The latter has some slight flaking in the paint surface. Under ultra violet inspection both works have an uneven layer of varnish. There is also minor scattered retouching throughout, in particular to conceal the pattern of craquelure. In the former, there is minor retouching around the figures (in particular the woman) and around the painting in the centre. The works are both offered in carved and gilt wood frames in good condition.
