Arabic manuscript on paper, 136 leaves plus 6 flyleaves, 11 lines to the page, written in naskh script in black ink, keywords in red, text separation represented by pointed red roundels, 2 illuminated floral headpieces, gold cartouche, f.74b and 75a with illustrations of Mecca and Medina, ruled in gold, red and blue, in brown binding with gold cartouche, with flap

Condition

In good condition, the margins are overall clean, occasional staining and smudges to the ink throughout the pages but overall the calligraphy is clean, minor smudges and loss to the paintings, the binding with minor losses, flap repaired, as viewed.

The present manuscript contains both the Dala’il al-khayrat of Muhammad ibn Suleyman al-Jazuli (d.1465 AD) as well as the work al-Hizb al-'azam wa warad al-afkham, by 'Ali ibn sultan Muhammad al-Qari (d.1754-55 AD).
