Description

Persian manuscript on polished paper, 65 leaves, plus 2 flyleaves, 15 lines to the page, written in neat nasta'liq script in black ink, keywords picked out in gold, set into outer gold-flecked margins, ruled in colours and gold, opening page with illuminated headpiece composed of interlacing polychrome flowers against blue, black and gold grounds, final folio with corresponding illumination, brown leather binding with gilt-stamped foliate medallions, doublures with cut-leather filigree work  

Condition

In generally good overall condition, ink bold and illumination bright, ages generally clean, a small number with trimmed borders, as viewed.

A note on the opening attributes the manuscript to the scribe Mir ‘Ali al-Katib.
