Arabic manuscript on polished paper, 30 leaves, 7 lines to the page written in elegant alternating black and gold naskh script, verses separated by pointed gold roundels, margins ruled in red, blue and gold, illuminated marginal devices throughout, f.9b f.20b and f.29b with surah headings written in white thuluth script against a gold ground in a florally-decorated panel, opening illuminated headpiece with juz’ title in white thuluth against a gold ground within cartouches filled with interlacing scrolls, in original gilt-stamped binding, doublures with filigree-work medallions and spandrels against coloured panels, with flap

Condition

In very good condition, the margins are clean with only minor various stains, occasional smudges to the ink, the illuminated frontispiece in overall good condition retaining crisp colours, one of the central decoupé arabesque medallion of the doublures missing, the others affected by minor losses, as viewed.
