Arabic manuscript on polished cream paper, 28 leaves, 5 lines to the page, written in muhaqqaq script in gold ink outlined in black, incomplete, verses marked by gold florets pointed in red, gold and polychrome marginal khams and ‘ashr, margins ruled in blue, double page frontispiece with 3 lines of muhaqqaq against a red hatched ground, with upper and lower panels in large white ornamental Eastern Kufic against a polychrome ground filled with gold-scrolling split-palmettes, later red morocco binding with central gilt-stamped cartouches, with flap

Condition

In overall good condition, the margins with occasional paper repairs affecting mainly the margins, 4 marginal khams or 'auhara have been cut out and replaced with paper, minor water and various stains throughout the text, the opening illumination with paper repairs and minor holes, binding worn, otherwise the text is clean, as viewed.
