text: surah luqman (XXXI), beginning of verse 22 to surah al-ahzab (XXXIII), end of verse 30
Arabic manuscript on paper, 23 leaves, plus 4 fly-leaves, 5 lines to the page, written in muhaqqaq script in gold ink outlined in black, surah headings in bronze outlined in black, diacritics in light blue, verses marked with light blue roundels outlined in gold, margins ruled in gold, light blue and black, gold and polychrome illuminated devices in the margins, double page illuminated frontispiece composed of a border of interlacing flowers and split-palmettes, the text against roundels of brown tendrils, in brown morocco binding with gilt stamped medallions, with flap

Condition

In discrete condition, the margins have been cropped and occasionally repaired, the spine restored and the section rebound but remains complete, repairs and consolidation throughout the manuscript with sellotape, water-stained consistently and various other minor stains, occasional rubbing of the ink, the opening illumination with severe loss and rub of the ink, as visible in the catalogue.
