l'éléphant à la tête tournée vers la gauche, accompagné de deux personnages debout, un troisième personnage tenant un sceptre ruyi, accroupi sur un long tapis de selle frangé finement sculpté de branchages fleuris sur fond de croisillons et fleurettes

Condition

The figure on the back of the elephant is broken off at both feet and reattached, Part of the figure's right elbow, the tip of his hat and tail of his coat as well as parts of the figures feet are broken off and missing. The bamboo is patinated to a rich dark brown colour, the carving of the textile across back very fine and detailed.
