tissée de fils en soie polychromes et de fils d'or, au centre un dragon à cinq griffes empoignant la perle enflammée, les quatre coins avec un dragon représentés de profil, tout sur un fond géométrique de fleurettes stylisées dans des motifs bleus, verts et rouges rehaussés d'or, le tout sur fond jaune

Condition
The textile is in overall good condition. There are very small areas of wear to the textile near the corners. The colours on both sides are incredibly bright. There is a fold to the centre where the textile was folded.

Compare two silk brocade cushion textiles of the same form, size and design of four five-clawed dragons encircling a central dragon, defined as a silk lampas cover, one illustrated in Collection of Chinese and Other Far Eastern Art assembled by Yamanaka & Company, Inc., New York, 1943, cat. no. 1517, the second illustrated in Spink & Son Ltd., Chinese Textiles, London, 1994, cat. no. 50.
