Description

de forme balustre aplatie, à deux anses ajourées à têtes de chimères retenant des anneaux mobiles, la panse finement sculptée de chaque côté d'un masque taotie stylisé, les parties inférieures et supérieures ornées de bandes de feuillage stylisé, le col orné de palmettes, le couvercle entouré de quatre béliers couchés et sommé d'un lion bouddhiste, socle en bois (3)

Condition

Vase and foot are carved of one single piece of stone. There is a ca. 0.3cm wide chip to the edge of the foot. There are minute fritts to the rim and the raised parts of the carved design. There is a bruise to the rim of the cover and an associated hairline to the rim. There are small fritts around the rim and to the raised parts of the carved design on the cover. The stone is an even, almost white colour and highly polished.
