Condition

There is some corrosion around the falconer's gauntlet and the support for the bird; it is likely that the bird has at one time been reattached and re-soldered. There is movement at this juncture, and the bird rocks back and forth. Additional corrosion and accretions to the back satchel. All added elements, such as reins, belts, and spurs, are firmly attached to the main body of the sculpture. The foundry pastille is fairly strong but with some loss to the outer letters. The patina is a mid- to light some brown, with some light rubbing in areas of high relief. Surface dirt and dust. The work has been polished. Sold with a custom wooden base, 34 by 28 by 14 inches (36.2 by 71.1 by 35.5 cm).
