This work has been wax lined. A fine web of stable craquelure is visible throughout the composition. Under UV: an old varnish fluoresces green throughout the foreground yet scattered fine dots of retouching are visible. Additional isolated areas of broad, brushy retouching in the foreground, sky and mountains.
