There are scattered areas of paint flaking throughout the composition with associated paint loss: to the left of the man with the cigarette, by the boot of the seated figure on the left, in the grass in the lower left. There is a dent in the right knee of the figure in the white shirt with associated paint flaking and losses and further losses in his trouser leg which have been painted in.
