Condition

Original canvas on a new stretcher. There are some losses to the tacking edges, notably to the corners. There are losses to the paint surface in the centre of the top and bottom edges. A dent in the canvas to the left of the rowers has resulted in cracks to the paint layer. There is another smaller dent to the right of the tree in the far right. Scattered cracks are visible elsewhere, notably in the upper left of the sky and in the water. Inspection under UV light reveals an uneven varnish layer. Held in a painted wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
