Catalogue Note

The rendering of the eyes and the snout of the present piece share close similarities to a Liao-Jin dynasty example of similar subject in the Tianjin City Art Museum, illustrated in Tianjin shi yishu bowuguan cang yu [Tianjin City Art Museum. Jade], Hong Kong, 1993, pl. 177.
