Condition

The panel is flat, even, and ensuring a stable support. There is a fine pattern of hairline craquelure throughout, however this is only noticeable upon close inspection. Ultra-violet light reveals three minor spots of what appears to be discoloured retouching in the sky, also visible to the naked eye, and some very finely applied lines of retouching addressing craquelure in the foliage of the trees in the centre of the composition and in the roof tops in the right hand side. This work presents very well and is otherwise in good condition and ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame with a beige inner slip. The blues are somewhat brighter in reality than in the catalogue illustration.
