Condition

The canvas has not been lined and is somewhat undulated in the upper right corner. Two faint stretcher bar marks corresponding to the upper and central stretcher members are visible. There are a couple of spots of paint flaking in the ground in the lower right quadrant, as visible in the catalogue illustration. Ultra-violet light reveals intermittent strokes of retouching along the four framing edges and some other scattered spots notably in the background, including a circa 10cm vertical stroke above the poster. These retouchings appear to be addressing paint flaking and could possibly be improved with some restoration. Presented in a simple wooden frame. Colours are somewhat less red in reality than in the catalogue illustration.
