Condition
The canvas has not been lined. This work presents very well.
There are some fine lines of craquelure, notably in the sky in the upper left, with some isolated spots of flaking; these could benefit from some work of consolidation. A faint stretcher mark corresponding to the vertical stretcher member and one faint line of rubbing in the table in the lower edge are visible. Ultra-violet light reveals areas of fluorescence in the upper left which appear to be attributable to the artist's pigments. However, some small, scattered spots of retouching are visible, notably: in the table top, in the plate and in the sky addressing paint flaking. Some strokes of strengthening are also visible in the turkey. These appear to be somewhat discoloured and are visible to the naked eye upon close inspection. Overall, this work is in good condition.
Presented in a black and white decorative gilt frame.
