Condition
Overall, the condition of the marble is very good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age.
There are naturally occurring inclusions to the marble, including to the proper left upper arm and to the proper left hip, to the upper back, to the proper right breast and the side of the thorax. There are various dirt marks, including to the proper left hand and the proper right leg, and the backs of the arms. There are minor chips and abrasions to the edges and corners of the base.

Catalogue Note
Dimitriadis studied at the School of Arts of Athens (later the School of Fine Arts), and in 1903 he received the Averof scholarship to continue his studies in Munich. The following year, he moved to Paris where he studied at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière and l’École des Beaux-Arts. In 1905, he opened a workshop in Paris, and later opened a second workshop in London.
