There are naturally occurring inclusions to the marble, including to the cushion underneath the proper right knee. There are various small chips and abrasions to the edges of the base, including a larger chip to the base below Venus's proper left big toe, and some small chips to the edges of the urn at the top. There is a small hole to the base at the side. There are some small scratches and abrasions elsewhere, including to the urn and to the back of Venus' back. There is evidence of original chisel marks to the surface throughout the marble.
