Overall, the condition is very good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is some rubbing to the patina, in particular at the toes. The strings of the banjo are made separately and are slightly loose, but stable; they are also slightly warped. There is an old label on the marble base at the feet. The marble base is in good condition, with some minor inclusions and some veining, consistent with the material. There are minor chips and abrasions to the edges and corners, and to a section at the edge at the front of the marble base. There are a few dark dirt marks to the base.
