Description

  • Cecil de Blaquiere Howard
  • Torse féminin (Female torso), 1930-38
  • Burgundy stone
An unfinished original marble.

Condition

Overall, the condition of the stone is very good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The sculpture is unfinished, and there are pointing marks from the abdomen downwards. The colour is variated, and the surface is slightly streaked at the abdomen. The marble is intentionally sculpted to look like a fragment. There are a few minor scratches, including to the top of the back.
