Description

  • Cecil de Blaquiere Howard
  • Lucy Krohg, 1911-1912
  • stone

Exhibited

New York, Armory Show, 1913

Condition

Overall, the condition of the stone is good, with minor dirt and wear consistent with age. There are abrasions to the surface, in particular to the legs, where there are larger abrasions and a few small holes. There is a small loss or inclusion to the fringe, and some further small losses or inclusions to the proper right shoulder and chest. There is some dark staining, probably due to water, to the terrasse, particular at the edges. There is natural pitting to the stone throughout and there is variation in the colouration of the stone, including orange strands running through the proper left side of the body. There are small chips and wear to the toes, and possibly to the ears of the cat at the back. There is some green paint to the proper left arm.
