Condition

Overall in good original condition. The original black leather cushion is in two parts (an upper half and lower half of the chair) with is difficult to discern in the catalogue illustration, with an additional head rest. One leather loop that secures the head rest to the top of the chair with a partial tear at the outer edge and the other loop with small cracking at the edges. Both of these elements could benefit from professional attention to better strengthen and secure the head cushion. The leather overall with a nice natural patina as well as general signs of light wear and craquelure, as naturally occurs in this material with age. The canvas structure of the lounge chair is in very good condition, consequent to being well protected by the removable leather cushions, and with minute discolorations and surface dirt to its underside. The armrest fitted with black dyed leather bands which present with light rubbing and scratches, in turn exposing the natural leather hue. The black leather to the proper right armrest with an area of noticeable shallow wear, exposing the natural leather color. The chromium plated steel frame and supports with light surface scratches, minor abrasions and a marked loss of plating to the front edge of the proper left armrest (approx. 12 in long and 3/4 in wide). A comfortable lounge chair with a dramatic profile and elegant line.
