Condition

Overall good condition consistent with age and use. Arms in excellent condition with one to two small spots of wood infill (approx. 1/8 in.). There are three scratches to the underside of the left proper arm. The leather seat is original and presents with clear signs of age. There is heavy cracking, scratches and crazing throughout, as is consistent with this material over time. There is a 5 inch separation in the leather seat which has been sensitively restored by a professional conservator and is not visually distracting. The metal with losses to plating throughout, particularly along the left proper arm support, many of which is visible in the catalogue illustration. With metal tag to underside of seat. Constructed in solid wood, twisted like a propeller, the back rest is highly complicated to produced, but the resulting form is exceptionally pleasing, both visually and functionally.
