Description
Taylor 1963
u. 1bn, 4vts, 1t/hs, 4 UK bottlings by T. Welsey embossed on wax capsules with typed generic labels and chipped and partially missing wax capsules, 8 bottles with stained labels, slight signs of seepage and chipped and partially missing wax capsules, 1 different style label
The 1963 is slightly deeper in colour than the 1966. Great vibrant damsons. Massively strong - the 1963 character is always as marked as the house style, as a general rule, in this vintage. The amazing backbone is here supported by extraordinary fruit. When you go back to it, it has a burnt coffee nose. Another bottle had toffee and alcohol on the nose and a really toffee taste. The finish is spirity but very long. My last bottle, in 2008, was very gentle and soft - we all go that way with age! Serena Sutcliffe, MW
