These top 1946s always surprise me. My best bottle had a really rich liqueur nose and was mouth-coating, rich, spicy and truly attractive on the palate. The acidity came in right at the end. In 2009, clean, youthful and fresh on the nose, with such tempting, light-textured fruit on the palate. As before, a bit tart at the end. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
