Catalogue Note
At the beginning of the 20th century, the industrialist John Shaeffer commissioned Audemars Piguet a special minute repeating cushion-form wristwatch with his name as the indexes.
In the 1990's the Le Brassus Manufacture paid tribute to the iconic piece by introducing a few very limited editions of pieces with a similar cushion-form case.
The present lot is a very attractive example with a combination of two of the most important complications: the minute repeating and the perpetual calendar.
It is further distinguished by its skeletonized dial giving the watch a very unique presence. It is believed that only a handful of watches in this configuration were produced.
