Catalogue Note
This model, Ref. 96, "the" Calatrava, was introduced in the early 1930's and was produced for over 40 years. It is regarded as the most recognizable of Patek Philippe's designs, the classic vintage watch of understated elegance.
This example, is one of the earliest produced and particularly appealing thanks to the patina of the dial giving the watch a very unique look and presence. The attractiveness of the piece is further enhanced by its original Patek Philippe buckle. To the best of our knowledge this watch has never before been presented at auction.
