Catalogue Note

Since its presentation in 1997, the A. Lange & Söhne Cabaret holds a special place in enthusiasts collection. Its characteristic rectangular and angular shape reminds the elegance of the Art Déco period.

Eleven years after being introduced, the Manufacture introduced the Cabaret Tourbillon. The beautiful form movement was the first featuring a tourbillon with a stop second. This breakthrough in the history of this complication allows the owner to set the time precisely. It is a crucial step for the tourbillon that was invented in 1801 to improve the accuracy of the watch by compensating the influence of gravity.

Furthermore, this remarkable piece houses the calibre L042.1 with a double barrel for a total power reserve of five days. The subsidiary dial at 4 o'clock indicates when it is time to wind the watch again.

The present lot is from the year of the introduction of this fascinating model and is offered by its original owner with a very complete set.
