Catalogue Note
The A. Lange & Söhne Monats-werk is considered by collectors and scholars as a revolutionary piece. This reputation is due to its exceptional 31 days power reserve with a very complex winding system attesting the craftsmanship of the Manufacture. The key winding system creates much more torque than a traditional crown winding one. Furthermore, it has a built-in torque and a backstop ratchet to protect the mechanism.
