Condition

To the naked eye: The painting appears in good condition. It has been properly re-lined in the first part of the 20th century. We notice a beautiful well preserved pictorial material. The painting has been cleaned most probably in the first part of the 20th century. The cleaning was correctly done and has preserved the glazes. Under the naked eye, we notice an oblique restoration 10 cm. long in the clothes of the Pope at the level of his right arm above the left armrest. This restoration was properly realized and it doesn’t bother the lecture of the work. Under U.V. light: The painting appears under a thick green uniform varnish. We notice the restoration already mentioned close to the arm on the left. We also notice a restoration finely realized in the middle, horizontal and 12 cm. long on the right of the blessing hand. We also notice some slight repaints in the upper right corner.
