Condition
Good condition overall with wear to the patina consistent with age and handling. Her proper right up held arm casts separately and joint and pins visible to the shoulder. Joint open to her proper left elbow. Both legs cast separately with joints visible. A few fine hairline fissures and casting flaws visible. Very expressive bronze with fine chiseling and hammering all over the surface.

Catalogue Note
L'attitude de cette Andromède implorante s'inspire du décor à fresque réalisé par Annibale Carrache (1560-1609) et le Dominicain (1581-1641), dans la galerie du Palais Farnèse à Rome (vers 1597). Cette belle fonte peut être rapprochée des bronzes issus des ateliers du nord de l'Europe tout en ampleur et simplicité.
