Catalogue Note

Cette scène fut reprise maintes fois sur des panneaux en micromosaique de toutes tailles et par de multiples artistes. Domenico Moglia (vers 1780-1862) et son fils Luigi (c. 1813-1878), furent parmi les mosaïcists les plus demandés au cours du XIXe siècle. Ils exposèrent leurs oeuvres lors de l'exposition universelle de Londres en 1851 et reçurent la médaille d'or pour leur Temple de Paestum. Un autre panneau représentant le Forum Romain, également exposé en 1851, fut acquis par Sir Arthur Gilbert, désormais au Victoria & Albert Museum (LOAN:GILBERT.183:1-2008).
