Condition

The picture is unlined, in clean condition and ready to hang. There are no visible sign of craquelure. UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT There are areas of retouching to the sky and the canal, a small are to the left of the standing male figure and to the right of the woman at the well. There are minor flecked retouchings around the hands of the main woman and to the cheek of the little girl. There is also a small area of retouching to the white area on the building on the extreme right. FRAME Contained in a moulded gilt 'sweep' frame.
