Condition
The picture is relined and in very good condition with clear, strong colours throughout. There are very faint signs of craquelure to localised areas in the clouds but this is only visible upon close inspection. The picture is clean and ready to hang.
UNDER ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT
There are fine flecked retouchings to infill craquelure, mainly caused by the stretcher bars. There are other small areas of retouching within the clouds on the left side.
FRAME
The painting is contained in a moulded plaster sweep frame - sold with an alternative reeded white-painted frame.
