"THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF." FIRST EDITION, INCLUDING FDR'S CELEBRATED FIRST INAUGURAL ADDRESS.  PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY ROOSEVELT, "For Daniel C. Roper — this record of our first year — with all affectionate regards, Franklin D. Roosevelt. April 28 1934." With erratum slip and FDR's autograph correction on page "x" of the forward, changing private "party" to "property".

Daniel C. Roper (1887–1943) served as Roosevelt's Secretary of Commerce from 1933 to 1938, and then as ambassador to Canada.
