FIRST EDITION OF AN ANTHOLOGY OF ABOLITIONIST SENTIMENTS SOLICITED BY THE ROCHESTER LADIES' ANTI-SLAVERY SOCIETY. Proceeds from the sale of the book were to be "devoted to the dissemination of light and truth on the subject of slavery throughout the country."
Contributors include WILLIAM H. SEWARD, HARRIET BEECHER STOWE, HORACE MANN, WILSON ARMISTEAD, JOHN MURRAY, THE BISHOP OF OXFORD, THE EARL OF CARLISLE, HORACE GREELEY, AND FREDERICK DOUGLASS.
