Catalogue Note
THE TEXT WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON'S INAUGURAL ADDRESS, COMPLETE ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THE NATIONAL INTELLIGENCER. At one hour and 45 minutes, Harrison's address has the distinction of being the longest inaugural speech ever delivered. The new President gave the address in a howling snowstorm, without wearing a hat or a coat. The result was his death from pneumonia one month later, giving his the shortest tenure of any President in U.S. history.
