Oblong 4to (256 x 340mm.), 3 SALTED PAPER PRINTS (168 x 215mm.), one mounted and 2 loose, and 37 ALBUMEN PRINTS (average 208 x 250mm.), 17 mounted and 20 loose (including TWO 3-part PANORAMAS OF MALTA, a cabinet card, and a mounted image of a print), 10 pencil drawings (dated from 1827 to 1853), some heightened with white, together with a few other prints and drawings, nineteenth-century green morocco gilt, upper cover titled in gilt "PIETA", lower cover titled in gilt "MALTA", spine gilt, gilt edges, occasional light spotting, minor wear to some of the loose images, binding slightly rubbed

Catalogue Note

A GOOD ALBUM OF EARLY PHOTOGRAPHS OF MALTA (c.1859-c.1872)  INCLUDING TWO PANORAMAS, most captioned on the mount and dated 1859, some dated 1872, including views of Malta harbour and defences, Sa Maison, and Pieta Gardens with various group photographs and portraits taken in the gardens, including Lord Henry Scott with an Egyptian servant. The drawings, many of Pieta House and gardens, are dated between 1827 and 1853.
