Catalogue Note

A FINE COPY IN A DISTINGUISHED CONTEMPORARY BINDING. Published by subscription, the two volumes on the Thames were intended to be the first portion of a History of the Principal Rivers of Great Britain. The absence of the general title and dedication to George III in this copy suggests it is a later impression from after this larger project was abandoned.
