i) Robert Cornelius Napier, manuscript copy of his account of the Siege of Multan, commencing with a list of seven plans (not present), followed by a narrative of events from the arrival of Brigadier Cheape to conduct the siege on 30 November 1848, until the burial of two officers in the interior of the citadel on 26 January 1849 after its capture, with two appendices detailing the plan for capturing the fortress, 66 pages, plus blanks, folio (425 x 265mm), marbled wrappers, tear to upper cover and preliminary leaves, other minor nicks, spotting
ii) Five ink, wash, and watercolour views of Multan during the siege, four by R. Meshum, H[orse] Artillery, "Sketch of the Attack on the N.E. Face ... after the Springing of the Mine", "The N.E. Breach", "The Fort", and "The Shumes-ta-brez and Fort", one by George Fulton, "the Right of the Fort Breach on City side ... 30th December 1848", contemporary copies, various sizes (182 x 265 to 240 x 375mm), Whatman papers watermarked 1848-1849
iii) Mooltan Before & After Its Attack and Capture. London: G. Moody, [1850], seven tinted lithographic plates bound as two folding panoramic views, oblong folio, contemporary half red morocco, lettering piece on upper cover

The capture of Multan on 22 January 1849 by the forces of the East India Company was a key event in the Second Anglo-Sikh War, marking the end of Sikh power in the Punjab.
