Large oblong folio (475 x 620mm.), 78 ALBUMEN PRINTS (average 270 x 380mm., or the reverse), and 2 folding panoramas: a 5-part PANORAMA OF CAIRO by Sebah (262 x 1580mm.), and a 3-part PANORAMA OF JERUSALEM (268 x 1070mm.), all mounted on thick card, recto and verso, CONTEMPORARY RED MOROCCO, spine in compartments with raised bands, titled in black on spine "ORIENT" and "1", gilt edges, gilt dentelles, marbled endpapers, some fading and spotting to images and mounts, other minor wear to a few images, upper hinge detached, slight scuffing to binding

An impressive photograph album containing views of Cairo (5, plus a panorama), ancient Egyptian monuments (23, including the great pyramid and sphinx, Thebes, Philae etc.), Jerusalem (27, plus a panorama), other views in Palestine (17, including Bethany, the Dead Sea, Jericho, Bethlehem, Hebron, Nazareth, Galilee, Haifa and Acre), and Lebanon (6, including Tyre, Sidon, and Beirut). Many of the photographs of Egypt are signed by A. Beato or P. Sebah, the photographs of Jerusalem and Palestine appear to be by Bonfils. This is a companion volume to lot 173.
