Condition

Overall in very good condition. Please note that the correct overall drop for this chandelier is 38 1/2 inches. When viewed firsthand the coloration of the glass is far more nuanced and varied in tonalities than seen in the catalogue illustrations, which is slightly over saturated and too red. The shade with approximately 16 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. All of these hairlines appear stable. The shade throughout with light surface soiling to the glass and adjacent contours of the shade leading. There is a very small loss to the upper right corner on one of the turquoise geometric tiles just beneath the top aperture; this small corner loss has been filled with putty that is complementary in color to the shade leading and only visible upon very close inspection. (If desired this small loss can be conserved in a more permanent manner.) The shade leading is particularly well rendered, with fine pencil leading, and display an exceptionally rich russet brown patina. All of the accompanying hardware (ring mount, chains, rod, ceiling canopy, socket cluster) has been replaced and faithfully follows the design of Tiffany original hardware; the socket cluster with six period socket casings and Bryant paddle switches. An outstanding example of this rare model displaying a superb, highly saturated glass selection. The Trumpet Creepers are articulated in a wide range of hues ranging from rich reds to fiery oranges to golden yellows, and the background passages are thoughtfully accented in richly saturated indigo and amethyst. A stunning shade showing great nuance and artistry to glass.
