Condition
Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 25 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout, which is a relatively low number in proportion to the vast number of glass tiles which were required to execute this complex and large shade. All of these hairlines appear stable. The shade leading is exceptionally rendered with very refined lines and displays a particularly rich green and russet brown patina. The reticulated Queen Anne's Lace base is in beautiful condition, displaying a particularly rich green and russet brown patina and fine crisp details to the casting. The bronze surfaces with some occasional light surface scratches and abrasions, rubbing, traces of surface soiling in the recessed contours of the cushion, and a few isolated traces of surface residue on the upper standard, all consistent with gentle age and handling. The telescoping device on the base (which would allow one to raise the height of the base, if desired) is fully functional. The four sockets and paddle switches appear original and undisturbed. With a rare reticulated "volcano" heat cap that presents a harmonious design and patina coloration to the base; the outer surfaces of the heat cap appear to be applied with a lacquer finish. The upper wheel of the base which supports the shade with three cut-out notches along the interior profile (most likely a factory adaptation.). A gorgeous example of this complex floral design, displaying an outstanding artistic glass selection and a superb base pairing with the shade. The lamp presents beautifully and when viewed firsthand the coloration of the shade is far more rich and nuanced than seen in the catalogue illustrations, which do not fully capture the brilliance and luminosity of the glass. The upper register of the shade shows accents of rich aqua which are not fully visible in the catalogue images.
