Condition
Overall in very good condition. The shade with approximately 12 cracks to the glass tiles dispersed throughout. All of these hairlines appear stable. The shade with surface soiling to the adjacent contours of the shade leading. The bronze base has been sensitively re-patinated and displays with a deep and rich green and russet brown patina, showing very gentle surface wear. All three sockets and paddle switches appear original and undisturbed. With a replaced heat cap. When viewed firsthand, the glass shows far greater nuance and artistic complexity than seen in the catalogue illustration. The richly mottled glass of the opalescent blossoms shows strong movement, complemented by the highly unusual an complex confetti glass seen throughout the background passages that greatly heightens the sense of pictorial depth and visual interest of the shade. An outstanding example of the model displaying a highly artistic and thoughtful early glass selection. The background passages of the shade are articulated in highly complex confetti glass, which heightens the visual interest and depth of the shade. The lamp displays beautifully when viewed in person, and the colors are far more rich and nuanced than seen in the catalogue illustrations. In particular the white opalescent tulip blossoms and the aqua and green glass throughout show a much warmer tone. When viewing this lamp in person, the coloration is slightly less red and more of a cooler palette than seen in the catalogue illustration. An exceptional example of the model, displaying a particularly dynamic and complementary shade and base pairing. The glass selection in the shade shows a striking color transition, imparting the lamp with a highly aquatic sensibility.
