Description
Château Cheval Blanc 1929
St. Emilion, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A)
Purchase from Sotheby's 'Fine and Rarest Wines Featuring the Collection of Ambassador Ronald Weiser' on 4 April 2014 in Hong Kong, good color and clarity, level into neck, slightly scuffed, soiled and stained Nicolas stamped label, slightly corroded capsule
An amazingly small yield of 7.6 hectolitres per hectare and 14.6 degrees of alcohol. A great sweet scent and terrific sweet class on the palate. Magic. Violet creams on the finish, with '29 silkiness. Breathtaking in its beauty. Ten years ago I remarked on its cedary qualities - it was superb then and it is superb now. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
