Condition
Oil on canvas laid on panel. The canvas is slightly raised in some small places to the left of the composition.
Ultraviolet light reveals traces of varnish which fluoresces opaquely in places, and some strokes of retouching, notably along the lower edge.
A small area around a repaired tear to the center of the left edge in the background, to the left of the figure’s face and intermittently along the upper edge.
Presented in a modern gilt frame with a white painted inner slip.
