Condition
The canvas is unlined with three patches visible on the reverse. There is a very fine pattern of hairline craquelure just visible in the catalogue illustration.
Ultraviolet light reveals an horizontal area of restoration in the minaret to the right and in the sky, a smaller area of restoration in the lower part of the same minaret and a small restoration to the lower right of the trunk of the palm tree (all three corresponding to patches on the reverse), and a few other more minor scattered signs of retouching.
The painting is otherwise in good overall condition.
Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
The colours are slightly deeper and more yellow in reality than in the catalogue illustration and less red overall.
