Condition
The canvas has not been lined.
There are some scattered small spots of paint flaking notably in the central boy’s trousers, his ear and near the center of the left edge.
Under ultraviolet light the varnish fluoresces evenly and quite opaquely, making the surface difficult to read. There appears to be a small stroke of retouching in the vegetation in the lower left, and some other minor signs are visible.
The painting is otherwise in good condition.
